In line with the 128th founding anniversary of the Department of Agriculture, some DA RFO8 employees participated in a bazaar held at the Carpark Area.

The DA RFO VIII participated in the kick-off ceremony of the Agri-Aqua Fair, held on June 24, 2026, at the Capitol Tree Park, Maasin City, Southern Leyte.

On June 18, 2026, the DA RFO VIII, in partnership with LGU of San Isidro, officially launched the 2026 San Isidro Corn Model Farm Establishment cum ABFS Technology Derby, also known as ‘Corn Derby.’

The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office VIII, through its RCPC in partnership with the National Corn Program, successfully conducted a two-day IPM Training on Corn on June 18-19, 2026, at the Municipal Agriculture Office in Paranas, Samar.

Over 13,000 farmers and fisherfolk across Eastern Visayas received Php 2,325 financial assistance under the PAFFP, following the release of over ₱30 million in cash aid from June 8 to June 11, 2026 in various municipalities across the region.

Bolstering its commitment to food security, rural development, and climate-resilient livelihoods, the DA-8 has joined the LGU of Sogod, DOLE, DSWD, BFAR, and the Provincial Government of Southern Leyte in a convergence partnership for the implementation of the Sogod LGU-Initiated Convergence Program.

The PRDP RPCO VIII successfully held the RPAB deliberation for three major infrastructure subprojects, all of which garnered favorable endorsement for elevation to the NPCO for further processing and approval.
