Following the deployment of Mobile Soils Laboratories (MSLs) in Eastern Visayas and other regions across the country, the Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM) conducted hands-on training to enhance the knowledge and skills of technical personnel in soil testing and analysis.

The training focused on the proper use of the mobile laboratories and the testing of key soil properties—chemical, physical, and microbial—which are essential for understanding soil health and providing accurate recommendations to farmers.

The training on Physical and Microbial Analysis was conducted from September 8 to 12, 2025, at the BSWM Central Office in Quezon City. Meanwhile, personnel assigned to Chemical Analysis underwent training at the DA Regional Field Office X, Cagayan De Oro City, tailored to meet the specific needs of the region.

This initiative supports the continuous improvement of local technical expertise and ensures that the MSLs can deliver fast, reliable, and science-based soil health assessments to farming communities across the country.
