The Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) Regional Project Coordination Office VIII (RPCO VIII) conducted the I-REAP Component Subproject Implementation Evaluation cum Gender and Development (GAD) Workshop on August 10-11, 2026, in Tacloban City.
The two-day activity brought together participants involved in the implementation of I-REAP subprojects for discussions on implementation updates and Gender and Development concerns. The activity was designed to provide a venue for assessing ongoing subproject implementation while integrating GAD perspectives into the work of the component.
The first day opened with the preliminaries, acknowledgement of participants, followed by a guided group discussion on subproject implementation updates with the I-REAP Component. The discussion provided an avenue for the participants to present and discuss updates concerning the current implementation of I-REAP subprojects.
The activity also featured a series of Gender and Development presentations, which continued throughout the first day and into the second day. The presentations formed a major component of the workshop, highlighting the integration of GAD discussions alongside the evaluation of I-REAP subproject implementation.
The second day began with the recapitulation of the first day’s discussions, followed by the continuation of the GAD presentations. The activity concluded with a Synthesis and Agreements session, providing the participants an opportunity to consolidate the discussions and establish agreements moving forward.
Through the activity, PRDP reinforced the importance of continuous evaluation, coordination, and dialogue in the implementation of I-REAP subprojects. By bringing together implementation updates and GAD discussions in one activity, the workshop provided a platform for participants to reflect on current implementation efforts and identify areas requiring continued attention and coordination.
The two-day activity concluded with a renewed focus on the agreements reached during the workshop and the continuing implementation of I-REAP interventions under PRDP Scale-Up in Eastern Visayas.
