Bringing together local government unit focal persons and verifiers from across Eastern Visayas to strengthen their data management and monitoring capacities, the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), through its Regional Project Coordination Office 8 (RPCO8) held the SIDLAN LGU Module Encoding and Verification on October 1-3, 2025, in Tacloban City.

The three-day activity served as the final batch of the regional SIDLAN encoding and verification sessions, following similar activities held this year. A total of 27 participants from the provinces of Samar, Leyte, and Ormoc City — along with representatives from PSO Visayas and RPCO 8 — took part in the event.

During the activity, participants focused on encoding and verifying non-PRDP funded PCIP-based interventions, ensuring that data uploaded into the system were complete, accurate, and properly supported by validated source documents. This hands-on activity was complemented by coaching and mentoring sessions led by the I-PLAN and M&E teams of RPCO 8 and PSO Visayas.

The activity was designed to balance technical training, data validation, and collaborative feedback. The sessions were led by technical teams from PSO Visayas and RPCO 8’s I-PLAN and M&E components, who provided on-the-spot assistance and facilitated feedback on system performance and user experience.

At the conclusion of the activity, each participating LGU produced verified and encoded data on their respective PCIP interventions. The event also resulted in a consolidated list of system enhancement recommendations to improve SIDLAN’s usability and reporting functions.

A draft SIDLAN-based regional monitoring report was also initiated, integrating data from all the activities conducted thus far. This report will serve as the basis for regional analysis of investment progress and alignment with P/CCIP targets.

The activity concluded with an agreement among RPCO 8, PSO Visayas, and LGUs to sustain quarterly encoding and verification sessions and to continuously update the SIDLAN system to reflect real-time implementation data.

With the successful conduct of this activity, PRDP continues to reaffirm its commitment to strengthening local government capacity in data management and evidence-based planning and marks another step toward the full institutionalization of SIDLAN as a reliable monitoring platform for both PRDP and non-PRDP initiatives across Eastern Visayas.
