The most vital actor of our agricultural sector—farmers—beamed with deep gratitude as they received agricultural assistance worth ₱30M from the government during the Handog ng Pangulo Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat Program, rolled out region-wide today.

At Leyte Academic Center, Palo, Leyte, DA-8 Regional Executive Director Andrew Rodolfo T. Orais handed over the certificate of interventions worth ₱7.9 M to the Province of Leyte. Selected farmer groups assisted by the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) and the Adaptation and Mitigation in Agriculture (AMIA) witnessed and participated in the ceremony.

Attendees were also able to avail of Benteng Bigas or P20 Rice, through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo initiated by the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist – Leyte and the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division. A total of 300 bags were readied to be sold at ₱20/kg, which can accommodate around 1,500 beneficiaries from the vulnerable sector.

Some farmer associations also displayed assorted vegetables to bring fresh and affordable farm produce to the participants.

Several national government agencies coalesced to bring their services to the venue, beyond the four corners of their offices.

Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat para sa Lahat Program, underlining the objective of uplifting the lives of the Filipino people, especially the underprivileged sector, brings vital government services through a one-day caravan.
