The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 8 continued the implementation of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families (PAFFF) program in Leyte’s 1st District on May 29, 2026, simultaneously conducting payout caravans in the municipalities of Sta. Fe and Tanauan, Leyte, benefiting around 4,000 qualified recipients.

The payout caravans form part of the agency’s continuing effort to extend timely financial assistance to farmers and fisherfolk affected by rising production costs and other economic challenges confronting the agriculture sector.

Farmers and fisherfolk registered under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA), and who were actively engaged in farming or fishing during the oil crisis, received Php 2,325 in cash assistance during the organized distribution activities held in the two municipalities.

It may be recalled that the initial rollout of the PAFFF program in Leyte’s 1st District was conducted in April, covering beneficiaries from Palo and Tacloban City.

The simultaneous rollout was designed to expedite the delivery of assistance and ensure that qualified beneficiaries are efficiently served across the district. The agency also reiterated its commitment to the transparent, orderly, and responsive implementation of government support programs.

Further rollouts across Leyte and the entire region are expected to follow as part of the continuing implementation of the PAFFF program, with schedules to be announced by respective Municipal Agriculture Offices through their official communication channels.
